Job Description

The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the day–to–day distribution operations, which includes support to meet customer needs by completing product shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance and improving operational performance.

What will you do?

Coaching and mentoring of the distribution philosophies and tools to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity improvement targetsIdentifying standard processes and appropriate industry benchmarks against the current Operation.Lead and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities in support of Distribution and Operational strategic goals; including providing training teams and supporting kaizen events.Encourage functional leaders to champion a culture dedicated to taking action to continuously improve and be accountable for enhancing key performance indicators, such as growth, efficiency, asset utilization, inventory management, and customer dedication.

Key responsibilities:

Staff Hiring – Complete interviews for open positions and make recommendations for staff replacement and additions.Staff Training – Provide orientation, coaching, and training on department processes and systems.Participate fully with the Distribution team including the setting and execution of the Operational Strategy for the site.Increase Employee engagement and drive the investment in people through development and Reward and Recognition.

Education

Diploma required with 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or related fieldBachelor’s degree preferred with 2+ years of equivalent experience in related fieldBusiness management, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Distribution logistics, or equivalent work related experience.Knowledge of SAP/ERP MRP SYSTEMS, Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, Excel or related systems.Ability of work in a warehouse environment – with and without air conditioning, cooler with temps at 40 to 45F, bending, standing, and working on concrete 10 to 12 hours per day.Familiar with a variety of shipping, warehousing systems/software, which would include shipping, receiving, inventory, warehousing. Dangerous goods shipping background, IATA training

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Outbound shipping processes and operations – Shipping of products in a timely, customer centric and cost-effective manner.Knowledge of LTL, UPS, FedEx, Truckload and other major and local transportation partners.Manage daily distribution operations including, but not limited to, pick/pack process operations, routing and staging of customer orders, manifesting, and end of day closeout.Self-motivated with strong coaching and mentoring skills. Innovative, dynamic, multi-tasking.Effective, articulate and concise communication - written, verbal and presentation skills.
