Location/Division Specific Information

This position is within the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group (LSG) business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific reporting to the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) Ward Hill, MA facility. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a dedicated team and drive world-class logistics solutions in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 

What will you do?

Direct supervision of employees including recruitment, performance management and training.Provide opportunities for cross-training and leadership development through mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, and career development.Develop and empower employees through effective and consistent communication.Responsible for maintaining acceptable warehouse metrics including (Safety performance, quality assurance, on time shipments and shippable backorder).Initiate investigations into process failures, product failures, and safety incidents, determining and implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Operate a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and full compliance to all EH&S programs and activities. Maintain a high level of customer service with other departments and provide feedback on any issues, material availability, etc. in a timely manner.Track and respond to material shortages reported from the manufacturing floor.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall productivity and efficiency within distribution.

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain, or other related subject area preferred.

Experience

 5 years relevant exp with 1-3 years leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing OR successful completion of a Thermo Fisher Leadership Development Program will be accepted in lieu of required experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required to effectively manage and motivate a team, build relationships with employees, peers, and management, and prioritize customer satisfaction. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and change. Must have superb coordination skills to plan, coordinate, and set priorities to facilitate timely execution. Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Knowledge of MRP systems. Consistent, diligent, and accurate in carrying out responsibilities. Follows and provides direction accurately and efficiently. Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
