JOB SUMMARY
This position will work a day shift schedule. Will include some evening and some night hours, with the primary hours worked being day shift. It will support all employees in the Savannah Distribution Area. This schedule can include weekends and holidays. Work with management, employees and safety committees in implementing injury avoidance and accident prevention programs and providing safety training. Assure compliance with all internal and external safety policies, regulations, and procedures. Analyze, develop and coordinate training programs to improve safety performance. Implement and follow-up on safety program initiatives. Provide safety support during storm restoration activities. Promote Georgia Power's Southern Lifestyle, Functional Movement, and Wellness initiatives. Model, promote and support an employee-owned safety culture that takes pride in Pursuing Safety Excellence, training and implementing Behavior Based Observations (Safety Through Everyone’s Participation i.e. S.T.E.P) and Critical Risk Plan. Partnering with the First Line Supervisors and performing S.T.E.P Observations. Maintains the confidentiality of safety reports and incidents. Plays an active role in safety meetings, safety discussions and safety evaluations. Interfaces with regulatory agencies, assists in program writing, and ensures notification of the appropriate agency (s) in cases of non-compliance. Ensures employees know and understand Safety and Health policies and procedures by working and teaching employees. Must live within the coastal footprint of the Savannah area.

Experience and Education
Prior experience dealing with safety-related policies and procedures is highly desired Minimum 5 years of Distribution line/Troubleman experience including Storm response activities is required Bachelor's degree is a plusKnowledge, Skills & Abilities

Computer proficiency with Microsoft tools – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS, SharePoint, and Power BI Must be proficient in sourcing data from the internet Very good presentation skills Overnight travel required as necessary Effectively manages and works to eliminate risks associated by utilizing the Behavior Based Observations program and Job Safety Briefings Investigates non-compliance incidents and ensures notification to appropriate regulatory agencies takes place Performs safety walk downs (audits) with members of the supported distribution areas to eliminate risks and share findings with leadershipBehavioral Attributes
