We are seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer or Designer to join our team in Florida. This role involves supporting power distribution projects, working closely with residential and small commercial landowners to provide engineering solutions such as new power installations, equipment relocation, and conversions of overhead to underground systems.
ResponsibilitiesSupport power distribution projects.Conduct engineering calculations and design work for customers.Collaborate with individual residential and small commercial landowners.Design and implement new power installations to properties.Relocate equipment and overhead lines.Convert overhead systems to underground systems.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred), OR 2-year Technical Degree related to electrical or power distribution, OR Minimum 2 years of experience with Power Distribution.Experience in the electric utility industry.Working knowledge of primary and secondary distribution systems.Familiarity with utility standards.Ability to use design software packages such as BOUD, Bentley Open Utility Designer, and AutoCAD.Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations.Additional Skills & QualificationsInterest in Power/Energy/Utilities.1 year of engineering experience.Experience with quality control and tools such as Smallworld, Maximo, and Pole Load.Good written and oral communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.Work EnvironmentThe team consists of a 200-person power group, with about 70 individuals based in North Fort Myers, 120 in Tampa, and others at client sites. The Tampa office is a newly established 1900 sqft facility, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work atmosphere.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
