The Distribution Center Specialist supports the efficient daily operations of the distribution center by coordinating inventory movement, managing shipment workflows, and ensuring accurate and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This role serves as a key liaison between DC leadership, warehouse operations, transportation partners, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain high service levels and operational accuracy.

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 6-4:30PM (Mon-Fri & additional hours and weekends as needed)

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Coordination

Monitor, schedule, and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and business requirements.

Communicate with carriers, freight partners, and internal teams to resolve delays, discrepancies, or exceptions.

Track shipment statuses and proactively identify risks to on-time delivery.

Inventory Management

Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation efforts to maintain accurate stock levels.

Investigate inventory variances and collaborate with operations to implement corrective actions.

Ensure all inventory movements are accurately recorded.

Conducts routine audits to resolve discrepancies.

Researches discrepancies in coordination with Finance.

Orders and manages departmental supplies.

Operational Support

Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, and compliance paperwork according to regulatory and company standards.

Analyze workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Support daily DC performance metrics and reporting activities.

Participates in meetings with support teams.

Systems & Data Management

Utilize tools to process orders, track inventory, and maintain accurate records.

Provide data-driven insights to supervisors and managers to improve logistics, labor allocation, or vendor performance.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to company safety policies, product handling standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Participate in safety audits and contributes to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant environment.

Qualifications

Required

HS Diploma or GED.

Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Ability to operate PIV equipment (forklifts, tuggers etc.)

3-5 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution center experience.

Ability to interpret shipping documents, inventory data, and operational reports.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced environments with a sense of urgency.

Self-motivated, with demonstrated ethical behavior.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
