Dispensing Pharmacist

 The Dispensing Pharmacist is a registered Pharmacist who is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medication to patients. The Dispensing Pharmacist work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Dispensing Pharmacist ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Hours of operation for distribution are 5:30am to 12am. The schedule for position will be: 5:30am-4:00pm (4/10s). However, occasional overtime may be required including Saturdays. This is an ON-SITE role. Non-patient facing role.

Scope of Role and Responsibilities

Participate in the preparation of prescriptions via a highly automated systemCheck for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders.Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labelingInteract with fellow health care team membersAssure compliance with legal requirements within the pharmacyProcess and check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill Braille and Talking Vial orders.Pharmacist must be able to perform the duties required in the 3-core areas (i.e.:  Puck verification, TOTE verification, and Bulk Up)Researching medication issuesOther duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

Bachelors of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacyLicensed as a PHARMACIST in state(s) of practiceAbility to participate in Federal prescription programsSelf-directed, but also able to work well in a groupAbility to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solvingStrong communication skillsGreat attention to detailA positive, proactive attitude with a high level of energyWork ethic that is focused, accurate, and highly productiveProficient with computers

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years' experience in a high-volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment

Additional Information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$94,900 - $130,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
