SCR Medical Transportation LLC The primary function of the dispatch department is to maintain organized efficient routes that will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all Drivers while in revenue service. Dispatchers provide customer service by assisting the drivers to get our passengers on time and give them the most direct trip possible. A major challenge for this position is remaining flexible to ensure that performance goals are met in spite of operational challenges such as: vehicle shortages, staffing levels, and inclement weather conditions. Pay is $18.50/hour. One onsite shift available: Monday - Friday 11:00AM-7:30PM. Responsibility Profile: -Oversees daily scheduling of school vehicles to ensure on time service of all home-to-school routes. Monitors driver and Aides check-in and check-out and notifies drivers of changes to their routes. Makes scheduling adjustments and re-routes buses as necessary to account for on-time completion of routes and to cover open routes. -Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs. -Daily modifies and updates home-to-school route information as necessary to reflect the addition or deletion of stops and changes in student information. -Under general supervision, dispatches all buses to ensure on-time performance of service within an assigned geographical area and out of district areas. -Ensures that policy and procedures are followed by drivers and aides, uniform inspection and cleaning of buses, and performs visual inspection of drivers to determine fitness to drive. Escalates issues to Operations Managers/Supervisors for resolution. -Responsible for opening or closing the location, check the answering service for messages and receive calls from any drivers who will not be at work. Tracks daily attendance and communicates issues to the manager. -Use telephones, two-way radios or text messages to contact employees. -Ensures that all routes (both AM and PM) are properly “dry” run prior to the start of service. -Speak with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for ser-vices or equipment. -Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education & Certifications Required: High School diploma or equivalent Valid drivers license One (1) year of transportation experience. Some experience as a bus driver and/or dispatcher preferred. Experience & Skills preferred, but not required: -Strong verbal communication skills and solid customer service skills. -Some experience with computer software applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, etc. -Ability to work as a member of a team, and cooperate with co-workers and customers. -Some knowledge of buses’ response area, local streets and/or city grid. -Knowledge of school district rules for behavior and conduct of students.
