The External Affairs department manages the Resort’s external-facing presence, overseeing political and policy strategies and initiatives, managing philanthropic programs such as the Disney Wish Program and Disney VoluntEARS, and supporting the community of Anaheim through workforce development and other direct support opportunities.

The intern will report to the Manager, Government Relations

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Anaheim, California area from January 2026 through June 2026.

What You Will Do

As a Disney Intern on the External Affairs team, you’ll reside within the Public Affairs department at the Disneyland® Resort. In this role, you will be a part of a team responsible for championing the Resort’s external image. We serve as Disneyland® Resort’s liaison to government officials and the community at large!

As an External Affairs Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the following initiatives:

Government Relations:

Severe as the liaison to Orange County elected leaders on various fronts, including coordinating elected orientations, facilitating project and initiative update meetings, and assisting with the activation of stakeholder events.Review and report to the team on relevant agenda items at local meetings such as City Council and County Commission sessions.Conduct policy research on emergent and relevant issues across the state.Represent the resort at external events before local government and industry groups.Manage the team’s external contact database.

Corporate Social Responsibility:

Logistical support of Make-A-Wish visits and Community Workforce Development sessions.Management of the Disney VoluntEARS and Corporate Social Responsibility email and voicemail inboxes.Creative visuals, including infographics, PowerPoint presentations, and flyers.Assist with coordinating and supporting ongoing Disney VoluntEARS activations.Assemble VoluntEARS kits: arrange rosters, pick up campaign donations, and prepare all other necessary materials. General event and administrative support, including scheduling and booking conference rooms, ordering catering, pulling reports and log impact data, and other duties as assigned.

Education

Junior or Senior year preferredPursuing a degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, or a related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.Be at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorization.

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
