Under the direction of senior staff/leader, determine and request claim requirements, obtain appropriate claim documents, interact with clients, advisors and outside vendors. Review information submitted to determine disability status, benefit eligibility and benefits. Make claim payment within approval limit and manage the claim over the life of the client's disability. Confer with senior staff and/or leaders on complex cases.
Key Responsibilities
Adjudicate timely disability claim payments.
Resolve type and amount of benefit, verify status of the insurance policy and riders, confirm policy provisions.
Request and analyze medical, occupational and financial claim requirements.
Refer complex cases to internal resources for consultation on investigative approach.
Thoroughly and accurately document the claim file with subjective, objective, analysis and plan information.
Be a great partner by providing clients and advisors with clear understanding of requirements and status of claim.
Manage claim documents as they are received.
Communicate clearly and completely regarding the handling of the claim.
Refer claims as appropriate to designated staff members for review.
Required Qualifications
High school or GED
1-3 years of relevant experience with knowledge of disability and insurance product contracts.
Effective problem solving, analytical and interpretive skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to optimally prioritize tasks.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to be focused and engaged with day-to-day responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with disability claims.
Knowledge and experience with eWorkflow, client correspondence, and CAPS system.

Base Pay Salary
The estimated hourly rate for this role is $23.94 - $32.35/ hour. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
