The Director, Temperature‑Controlled serves as the single‑threaded leader responsible for driving C.H. Robinson's refrigerated transportation strategy and execution. As the Director, you will own growth, operational excellence, and product evolution across the Temperature‑Controlled portfolio; steering go‑to‑market strategy, solution development, and business expansion in partnership with commercial, revenue management, and capacity teams.
As the Director, you will partner closely with revenue management, commercial, and capacity teams to optimize coverage and performance across temperature-controlled freight. Serving as a strong advocate for the carrier community, you will build and expand strategic partnerships that enable flawless execution for refrigerated freight.
In collaboration with product, science, and analytics teams, you will help define the technology and capability roadmap, translating strategy into scalable, data‑driven solutions. Working alongside the Vice President, you will own financial forecasting, P&L outcomes, and performance accountability across the temperature-controlled portfolio.

Responsibilities:Lead the overall Temperature‑Controlled Transportation strategy, financial targets, and go‑to‑market approach, ensuring CHR remains an industry leader through innovation, competitive awareness, and continuous structural optimization Build, align, and influence cross‑functional partnerships across NAST, Product, Tech, Shared Services, Commercial, Capacity, and Operations to drive demand, improve capabilities, leverage AI, and enhance processes across the lead‑to‑cash lifecycle Oversee P&L performance, budgeting, revenue and expense management, and preparation of consolidated financial reporting, including insights on performance drivers, opportunities, and risks Evaluate build‑versus‑buy opportunities and collaborate with Corporate Development and Competitive Intelligence on strategic market threats, acquisition prospects, and long‑term growth accelerators Stay current with Temperature‑Controlled carrier networks to strengthen value propositions, deepen carrier connectivity, and inform customer and carrier solutions; engage at the executive level with top shippers and carriers Drive sales enablement, network education, external branding, and marketing initiatives to position CHR’s Temperature‑Controlled offerings competitively across all freight cycles Provide clear direction, prioritization, and oversight of team objectives, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives, cross‑functional alignment, issue escalation, and adoption of agile, continuously improving workflows Coach and develop talent through regular feedback, one‑on‑ones, skill gap identification, targeted development plans, and mentorship of emerging leaders, fostering a growth mindset and supporting long‑term performance and career progression
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum 10 years of professional leadership experience in transportation and/or temperature-controlled freightMinimum 8 years of direct people management experience Ability to travel up to 40%

Compensation Range
$196,700.00 - $342,500.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
