**Job Description**
BAE Systems is hiring a Director of Supply Chain to support our Maritime Solutions business in Jacksonville, FL and Norfolk, VA. The Director will lead Supply Chain Program Management for Shipbuilding Fabrication, including strategic planning and execution of material procurement, fabrication, and delivery for US Navy ship modules. This high-visibility role ensures that raw materials and manufactured components align with the production schedule, cost targets, and strict quality standards of the US Navy. Additionally, oversee and direct the capital improvements and facility upgrades needed to expand shipyard fabrication capacity. This includes aligning supplier capability, tool upgrades, and infrastructure investments with the long-term production requirements of naval surface ships and submarine programs.
+ This role can be based out of Jacksonville, FL or Norfolk, VA.
+ There will be 25% of travel required.
Responsibilities:
+ Supply Chain & Module Production Strategy
+ Develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive material strategies for complex ship fabrication projects (e.g., steel, piping, modules).
+ Ensure timely, high-integrity procurement and delivery of materials to the shipyard, aligning supply chain operations with production control and scheduling.
+ Lead the Materials Integrated Program Team (MIPT) to drive accountability, material flow, and root cause corrective actions.
+ Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks, reducing material shortages and improving manufacturing throughput.
+ Capital Improvements & Shipyard Infrastructure Oversight
+ Oversee the identification, planning, and execution of shipyard capital investments to increase fabrication and module production capacity.
+ Manage the installation of new equipment, machinery, and facility upgrades (e.g., automated cutting, advanced welding machines) to update antiquated tooling.
+ Coordinate with facility engineering and environmental teams to ensure capital projects meet regulatory, Navy, and safety standards.
+ Track capital project ROI, schedule, and cost performance to support the industrial base's expansion goals.
+ US Navy Program Management & Compliance
+ Serve as the primary liaison between Business Development, Supply Chain, Operations, Production, and Navy stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, FAR/DFARS, and Navy standards.
+ Act as the material Cost Account Manager (CAM), managing budgets and implementing Earned Value Management (EVM) to connect supply chain performance to cost outcomes.
+ Implement risk management plans, including supplier development projects and mitigation strategies for material bottlenecks.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
+ Experience in Supply Chain/Procurement Management
+ Experience in Program/Project Management
+ Experience in Manufacturing/Production, such as complex shipbuilding, aerospace, heavy industrial, or similar
+ Experience in US Navy programs, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) requirements, or similar defense prime contractor environments
+ Experience in Capital Projects, including managing facility improvements, large-scale capital equipment purchases, or shipyard/machine shop facility expansions
+ Ability to develop and drive strategic plans and objectives
+ Ability to support change and drive process improvements
+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop relationships across functional lines
+ Capable of efficient and relevant decision-making
+ Strong interpersonal and collaborations skills
+ Strong data analytics and reporting skills
+ Effective communication skills
+ Proficiency with MS Office, ERP systems, and MS Project or similar systems
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
+ Experience in Supplier Development and Industrial Base expansion initiatives
+ Strong understanding of structural fabrication and assembly techniques
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $138267 - $235053

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
