Short Description
Responsible for the development and oversite of the Health System’s organizational risk management program activities, including but not limited to administering the enterprise risk management program on a day-to-day basis.
Ability to handle multiple priorities.The program job responsibilities include:
Identification and proactive evaluation/intervention of clinical and organizational risks to minimize injury and liability.Coordination and direction of event reporting and investigation Oversees the administration of the event and activity reporting system (EARS)analysis of trends of adverse events and reporting of risk management/patient safety/near miss data, Serves as a content expert and leader in the RCA process,
Conducts risk assessments of high risk areas, and programs, , Supports and provides standard interpretation.
Ensures regulatory compliance with the objective of maintaining patient safety, enhancing quality care, and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the organization through participation in organizational validation and compliance rounding and risk assessments.Develops or recommend policies, procedures, systems and work flows that enhance the overall Health System Risk Management Program.
Leads loss prevention and loss reduction strategies targeted to reduce frequency and severity of adverse events and claims,
Presents or coordinates educational programs targeting high risk areas or topics to enhance staff awareness of their role in reducing liability risks. Offerings include class training programs, on-line education modules, pinpoints, etc.
Oversees all insurance coverage renewals including coordination of all renewal
Experience Required7 or more years of progressive experience in Risk Management or related experience in a large/ complex academic healthcare organization.
Strong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills; team player; solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills, able to influence change; negotiation skills
Education RequirementsBachelor's Degree required, RN, Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or MBA preferred.
License/Certification RequirementsARM, CPHRM helpful.
