Note: Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level **Job Summary** Director Revenue Cycle plans, directs, and evaluates revenue cycle operations for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH). This includes patient access, billing, collections, charge coding, health information management, and utilization review. Develops and implements strategies, policies, and procedures for revenue cycle activities in BSWH hospitals, clinics, and ambulatory care facilities. Oversees processes and systems for billing charges, negotiating with third-party payers, billing patients and insurers, filing Medicare claims, and pursuing denied claims and delinquent accounts. Ensures accurate and timely revenue recording. Establishes targets, goals, and internal controls to improve revenue capture and collection. Monitors revenue cycle process metrics and performs audits, integrity checks, and quality reviews. Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and adapts to changes. Works with finance, clinical, and operations departments to ensure effective and efficient revenue cycle activities. Coordinates with stakeholders to enhance revenue and cash flow for BSWH. A system Director translates and implements strategic plans and goals for their area. Makes final judgments on operational matters and ensures goals are met. Recommends policies and organizational changes for the area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual goals. Erroneous judgments can negatively impact the area's success, the business unit, and possibly the organization's operations. Plans and directs department operations, responsible for staffing, processes, budgets, and costs. Manages and advises subordinates to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Oversees a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to them. **Essential Functions of the Role** + Directs revenue cycle services for assigned area of responsibility for BSWH. + Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and priorities for revenue cycle services aligned to BSWH overall business goals. + Directs the operations and monitoring of revenue integrity functions that are operationally efficient. + Develops and implements system-wide revenue integrity policies, practices, and guidelines, and facilitates ongoing process and procedural improvements. + Collaborates with revenue cycle teams, corporate compliance, finance, IT, and other stakeholders. Identifies revenue integrity issues, develops action plans, and communicates resolutions to senior leadership. + Directs the identification of revenue integrity risk areas. Coordinates internal auditing and monitoring of billing areas for the assigned area within BSWH. + Manages the implementation and revision of a current library of charge descriptions. Ensures charges are handled consistently across BSWH. + Ensures compliance with federal, state, private payor, and all other applicable legal and regulatory requirements for the entire revenue cycle. + Assesses new technology, performs vendor assessments, creates ROI analyses, and recommends new technology to revenue cycle leadership. + Manages the selection and delivery of necessary education, compliance training, and resource materials for revenue cycle teams. **Key Success Factors** + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred. + 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle, accounting, or related field, preferably for a large health care system. + 1+ years of experience in a leadership role. + Experience with revenue cycle management in health care preferred. + Knowledge of revenue cycle metrics, processes, and technologies. + Excellent critical and quantitative skills. + Exceptional project management and prioritization skills. + Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. **Belonging Statement** We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported, and that our workforce should be reflective of the communities we serve. **QUALIFICATIONS** + EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification + EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience As a health care system committed to improving the health of those we serve, we are asking our employees to model the same behaviours that we promote to our patients.
