Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive. **Your day at NTT DATA** The Director, Procurement / Purchasing is a leadership role, accountable for a team leading efficiency and integrity of the processes for procurement of goods and services. The main responsibility of this role is to provide leadership in the planning and execution of the procurement / purchasing activities necessary to ensure the timely delivery of the specified materials and services at competitive pricing. Using an understanding of the overall business strategy, this position coordinates procurement / purchasing activities that will meet the needs of the business. This leadership role ensures that their team acts in a coordinated way to execute all procurement related processes successfully and efficiently, whilst fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. **Key responsibilities:** + Ensures that the necessary processes and systems exist for the team to execute their everyday activities. + Responsible for the adherence to budget when sourcing / purchasing materials and supplies. + Manages strategic sourcing efforts across all categories in the organization and manage the implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement processes. + Collaborates with stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, to understand procurement needs and requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services. + Maintains sound relationships with vendors and clients, intervenes with escalated queries from these stakeholders. + Handles contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers and partner with legal to ensure the necessary contract and agreements are concluded. + Accountable for the identification of ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability. + Conducts vendor performance reviews on an annual basis and ensure the implementation of any corrective actions identified. + Contributes to the creation of spend forecasts and then monitors these against the actual spend. + Ensures that the necessary processes are in place to drive continuous client satisfaction and use client satisfaction as a key benchmark for success. + Acts as people manager for the employees within the Buying team and ensure the full utilization of resources. + Makes tactical recommendations and/or decisions for various sourcing activities. + Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and drive compliance to purchasing rules and regulations. **To thrive in this role, you need to have:** + Solid knowledge of global sourcing and procurement strategies, tactics, processes, procedures and systems. + Familiarity with procurement software and systems to streamline processes, manage data effectively, and enhance efficiency. + Ability to leverage technology solutions to optimize procurement operations. + Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends. + Broad knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs. + Sound knowledge of inventory and supply chain management. + Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software. + Solid critical thinking and strong planning and organizational skills. + Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly. + Good leadership skills with the ability to manage a team. + Ability to recognize opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement. + Solid judgement along with decision making skills. **Academic qualifications and certifications:** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, supply chain management, or a related field. + A master's degree is preferred. + Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM). **Required experience:** + Significant demonstrable experience in a similar procurement / purchasing role within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment. + Significant purchasing experience including proficiency in conducting competitive procurement and negotiating agreements covering a broad range of commodities. + Significant savings and cost reduction experience, as well as developing and managing budgets. + Significant experience with sourcing and vendor management. + Deep knowledge of the different specialist areas required for procurement management in a local and/or global environment. + Significant experience leading and managing procurement / purchasing teams. **Workplace type** **:** Hybrid Working **About NTT DATA** NTT DATA is a $30+ billion trusted global innovator of business and technology services.
