This role will support the Enterprise Accounts team, who are responsible for managing $19 billion in revenue within the Cardiovascular, Medical Surgical, and Neuroscience Portfolios. Given the complexity of large-scale sales operations, strategic customer management, and compliance requirements, dedicated project management leadership will enhance execution, improve alignment with enterprise customers, and drive revenue growth. As Director, Commercial Excellence , you will play a pivotal role in executing major projects between our key enterprise accounts and internal business units. A typical day would involve: + **Strategic Planning and Execution** : Begin your day by reviewing project plans and aligning them with the strategic priorities of our enterprise accounts. Collaborate closely with the Director of Enterprise Accounts (DEA) to ensure that all projects are on track to meet both customer and internal objectives. + **Cross-functional Team Leadership** : Lead cross-functional teams, including representatives from Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, and Surgical business groups, to develop and implement strategies that enhance Medtronic’s market position. Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication. + **Stakeholder Engagement** : Partner with the Vice President of Enterprise Accounts, OU Area Vice Presidents, Regional Vice Presidents, and Regional Sales Directors to drive collaboration and ensure that each project supports the broader business goals. Act as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and updates. + **Customer Relationship Building** : Work alongside the DEA to build and maintain strong relationships with administrative and C-Suite leaders at key enterprise accounts in the Midwest market. Transition conversations from traditional product sales to co-developing strategies that align with the customer’s long-term strategic priorities. + **Performance Monitoring and Reporting** : Monitor the progress of ongoing projects, ensuring they are executed within the agreed timelines and budgets. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to update senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes. + **Innovation and Growth Initiatives** : Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within the enterprise accounts. Collaborate with the field teams to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that drive revenue and market share growth across Medtronic’s diverse portfolio. + **Continuous Improvement** : Conclude your day by reflecting on project outcomes and identifying areas for process improvement. Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring Medtronic remains a leader in delivering best-in-class solutions to our customers and patients. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties: + Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes. + Participates in establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets + Develops and recommends program level decisions to management. + Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. + Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. + Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. + Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. + Coordinate resources across different business units to ensure the necessary support and expertise are available for project success. + Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes. + Establish performance metrics and regularly monitor progress to ensure projects remain on track and within budget. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness. + Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with account directors, and clients. + Is accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction. + Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers, conducts briefings to higher level management team. **PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CAREER STREAM:** Program Managers and Directors focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members. **DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS** **Autonomy:** Manages one or more major, developing programs for critical functions across one or more regions that require development and coordination of new program plans or delivery methods with little precedence . Is accountable for overall program unit success. **Organizational Impact:** Establishes program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets. Establishes new policies and procedures that affect program management. Has budget accountability for one or more major programs. Program decisions are generally made independently with strategic or costly decisions recommended to higher level management. **Innovation and Complexity:** Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems typically impact multiple major job areas, businesses or functions within a program. Enhances programs management processes to substantially improve programs. **Communication and Influence:** Communicates and conducts briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding critical program outcomes . Represents one or more programs as the primary internal and external contact and makes recommendations to leaders and executives. Influences across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on new proposals and programs with divergent objectives. **Leadership and Talent Management:** Leads a matrixed small unit that typically includes multiple teams led by Program Managers and/or vendors. Approves tasks and schedule necessary for successful program execution. Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management. **Required Knowledge and Experience:** Requires broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in multiple job areas. Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function. This is an office-based position that will support our all-US Territory. This role is expected to be in the office 4 days per week from our Minneapolis offices. PR) locations (USD):$170,400.00 - $255,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
