SLG Director Operations

Key Accountabilities:


Manage relationships with all shipping partners and customers. Liaise with procurement to assist in the negotiation of contracts with freight carriers to drive speedy delivery at economical rates. Work collaboratively with leaders across the organization on understanding the voice of the customer in order to effectively execute shipping decisions. Perform escalations as needed to remedy shipping problems. Develop and implement a freight strategy utilizing any number of national and local carriers to provide shorter average transit times at the lowest possible expense. Coordinate with Procurement team to perform regular reviews of each freight carrier against their service level agreements (SLAs) and performance indicators. Coordinate with Operations team to provide the timely delivery of products, as needed. Serve as subject matter expert for company and merchant partners to maximize the value we provide. Serve as subject matter expert for cross-border shipping. Collaborate with finance and legal teams to obtain VAT certs, deferment accounts, etc.


Required Education and Experience:


Master's degree preferred. Strongly preferred: 5+ years in shipping/logistics/supply chain management industry. Preferred: prior experience in customer service and/or operations. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Preferred: experience using transportation management systems and Hillebrand's systems. Ability to persuade and lead. Ability to recognize and cultivate talent, and develop high-potential employees into high-performing employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
