Summary of position

Under the supervision of the DON, provides skin care treatments to residents under the medical direction of the resident’s attending physician and follows the center’s skin care program. Promotes good skin care, the healing of existing skin conditions and the prevention of skin breakdown/injury. Supervises day-to-day CNA compliance with toileting, positioning, incontinence care, assistive/positioning devices and general hygiene care. Ensures that CNAs are completing bathing sheets accurately and reporting skin conditions timely. Ensures CNAs provide proper nutritional care to promote healing and good skin care. Provides other skin-related licensed nursing care to residents consistent with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Monitor and direct the provision of non-licensed ancillary department services (i.e. dietary, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, etc.) in the absence of department supervisors. Completes accurate and timely clinical record documentation consistent with center policies and procedures and State/Federal guidelines. Adheres to JACAHO Standards where applicable.

Required Education and Experience

• Current and unrestricted active RN State license

• Must have and maintain current CPR certification

• Minimum one year of prior Wound Care experience

• Long term care center experience essential

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products 

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience in a fast-paced environment

• Post-acute care or health care experience preferred
