The Director of UX & Design for IAM serves as the creative leader for Thales’ portfolio of software, hardware, and SaaS solutions for the Identity & Access Management (IAM) market. The Director of UX & Design will be responsible for leading a team of solution designers and UX professionals to design and deliver best-of-breed creative cyber security solutions and user experiences for Thales’ next generation OneWelcome Identity Platform.
He/she will play a critical role on the IAM product leadership team, with overall responsibility for creating and managing the necessary design programs aligned to the concepts of AI-powered agile development; driving the execution of product UX and design that advances the overall product portfolio strategy and business goals; and fostering an overall culture centered on customer satisfaction and delivering delightful experiences for end users.
Job profile:
Ensure a consistent, frictionless, and delightful persona-based UX across all components and apps that make up the OneWelcome Identity Platform and other products within the IAM portfolio
Lead user centric design thinking practices for IAM, support PM-driven explorations, and collaborate with the broader Thales UX community (e.g., in the Cyber and Digital Identity global business unit)
Drive adoption of a consistent Design System in IAM and drive the design system roadmap, either through direct ownership or contribution in an open source or inner source model
Own user research for high impact features and use cases to drive designs and implementations
Collaborate with PMs, product architects, and engineering on the strategy and implementation of differentiating platform features and identity apps in a fast-paced, agile, and AI-powered SDLC process
Institute a program for iterative assessment and incremental UX improvements (e.g., Design validation for key features, and competitive benchmarking – System Usability Score)
People management responsibilities for 10-15 design and UX professionals
Candidate profile:
10+ years of overall solution design and/or UX leadership is required
5+ years of overall experience managing direct and indirect reports, influencing & collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering and product management
Experience managing distributed and global teams is a must
Experience with building and delivering SaaS/Cloud offerings is required
Experience with cyber security products is required; additionally, experience with identity, trust and assurance concepts and technologies (Identity & Access Management, Single Sign on, Multi factor authentication, Identity Governance & Administration, Privileged Access Management, Zero-trust security) is a plus.
Experience leveraging AI-powered design tools in support of the end-to-end design thinking process for efficiency, velocity, and creating high quality artifacts
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, UX Design, or equivalent is preferred
