Job Summary

The Director of Surgical Services oversees all surgical patient care at Baylor Scott and White Health. This includes clinical and nursing procedures in areas like operating rooms and outpatient surgery sections. The role involves managing patient care services before, during, and after surgery at our healthcare facilities.

Essential Functions of the RoleOversee the nursing surgical services for the designated area in our healthcare organization.Keep a vigilant eye on surgical units, intervening as necessary to safeguard high quality patient care.Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards for review by the senior leadership team.Coordinate with relevant teams to manage the scheduling within the operating room.Evaluate and choose products suitable for use within the operating room.Work in partnership with the supply chain department to procure necessary supplies.Key Success FactorsHaving previously held a managerial position would be beneficial.Possess the capacity for teamwork across diverse departments within an intricate healthcare establishment.Display extraordinary problem-solving abilities as well as thinking skills.Exceptional skills in oral and written communication, as well as collaborative abilities, are needed.Belonging Statement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferredHave a minimum of (3) three years of relevant experience, Director level experience is preferredRegistered Nurse (RN)Hold a Basic Life Support certification (BLS) or be willing to obtain it within (30) thirty days of starting the role.
