As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Markets Post Trade Technology, you will lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectivesMakes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresCarries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operationsDelivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domainsInfluences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseHands-on experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Oracle, ReactJS, NodeJS, Java, and Python.Experience with AWS.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle production incidents quickly in a complex environment.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologistsExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentExpertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical fieldExperience in a similar role within a financial services or technology company.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
