Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel set to open in Q2 2026 will bring contemporary style and Laotian flair to the heart of the capital, just minutes from Wat Si Saket, Vientiane Night Market, and Chao Anouvong Park. The hotel’s 197 guest rooms and suites will blend modern design with local touches, offering its guests the choice of four dining venues, including an international all-day dining restaurant, a western comfort food concept and bar, and a Southeast Asian fine-dining restaurant. Guests will enjoy Avani Spa with five treatment rooms, an Avani Fit fitness centre and studio, an outdoor swimming pool, and versatile event spaces including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

Job Description

As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will lead the commercial strategy for one of Vientiane’s most exciting new hotel openings. This role is responsible for positioning the hotel in the marketplace, building strong business pipelines, driving revenue across all segments, and launching the property with impact.

You will be a key member of the pre‑opening leadership team, shaping the hotel’s identity, storytelling, and market presence from day one. Your leadership will influence every stage of the commercial journey: from brand activation and distribution strategy to sales execution, partnerships, digital performance, and revenue optimization.

We are seeking a dynamic, forward‑thinking commercial leader with deep market insight, strong networks, and a proven ability to deliver results in a competitive landscape. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands‑on energy, coaching ability, and excellence in relationship building.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial planning for the hotel’s pre‑opening phase, including positioning, competitive analysis, segmentation strategy, and launch roadmap.Create, implement, and manage the annual Sales & Marketing plan in alignment with Minor Hotels and Avani+ brand strategy.Oversee all sales activities across Corporate, MICE, Leisure, Government, Embassy, and Local Accounts, ensuring strong pipeline development and target achievement.Lead digital strategy, brand communication, PR initiatives, e‑commerce performance, and promotional campaigns in collaboration with corporate teams.Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, clients, travel trade, corporate accounts, media, and local business communities.Guide all marketing content, storytelling, brand assets, and on‑property campaigns to ensure consistency and impact.Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, distribution, channel mix, and forecasting accuracy.Represent the property at trade shows, sales missions, industry events, and strategic networking opportunities.Prepare and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost‑effective initiatives and maximum ROI.Recruit, train, and lead a high‑performing Sales & Marketing team to deliver exceptional commercial results.Work closely with the General Manager and executive leadership to align commercial strategy with overall hotel goals, guest experience, and brand performance.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management, or related field; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.Minimum 7–10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience within upscale or international hotels; pre‑opening experience highly preferred.Proven track record of achieving revenue targets, developing strategic commercial plans, and leading high‑performing teams.Strong understanding of digital marketing, modern distribution channels, public relations, and brand alignment.Established network across key segments (Corporate, MICE, Travel Trade, Government, Embassies) within the region and local strongly preferred.Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and storytelling skills.Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear commercial action.Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and influence cross‑functional teams.Highly organized, forward‑thinking, and comfortable navigating a fast‑paced pre‑opening environment.Fluency in English required; Lao or regional languages beneficial.
