**Description:** **Job Purpose:** Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing the hotel’s topline revenue generation strategies. The role entails strategic planning to attain revenue targetsofthe FITand Group segments,tomaximizeboth,occupancy and average daily rate (ADR), as well as maintaining the agreedcompetitive market position(RGI). The role Identifies revenue generation opportunities in all markets, ensurevisibilityand book-ability with all stakeholders,promotingrooms and F&B outlets ofthe hotel. Director of Sales & Marketing overseesactionsplanned and taken, in close collaborationwith the revenue and marketing teamstomaintain a competitive edge over the agreed Compset and beyond. During the year and in the budgeting season, all decisions shall bedata-driventooptimize distribution channels, enhance brand positioningand when negotiatingkey partnerships,and whenadapting to market trends. **Qualifications:** **Duties & Responsibilities:** **Leadership and Sales Management** + Provides positive and assertive leadership to maximize revenue potential within the hotel. + Establishes key targets for the sales team and assists in ensuring the proper execution of the strategy to achieve objectives. + Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to establish oneself as a key decision maker in strategy achievements. + Analyses market information using sales and revenue systems and implements strategies to achieve the hotel’s financial room and catering goals. + Collaborates with the management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and the market for the segment led by the DOS. Assists in the development and implementation of both internal and external promotions. + Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Centre, Market Sales, GSA) to ensure the property’s needs are met and sales efforts are complementary rather than duplicative. + Participates in sales calls with the sales team to acquire new business and support close deals. Attends customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain, build, or develop key relationships with GSA, managers, and customers. + Supports the operational aspects of booked business (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence). + Identifies new business opportunities, key accounts, and potential partnerships to enhance the hotel’s market position. + Strengthens relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, wholesalers, and event organizers to secure long-term contracts and increase market share. + Oversees and supports the sales team in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), setting performance goals, and ensuring optimal productivity. + Collaborates closely with the events team to create compelling event packages that drive room bookings and incremental revenue. Conducts market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities. **Revenue Management & Strategy** + Assist Revenue Director withaccurate Forecasting and Business Strategy Implementation + Collaborate with the Revenue Director to develop and implement accurate forecasting and business strategies to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). + Work closely with the team to design and execute pricing strategies that optimize RevPAR and overall profitability. + Monitor market trends, booking patterns, and competitive pricing to provide informed recommendations on pricing, events, and inventory management. + Review and analyse performance reports, forecasts, and financial statements to make data-driven decisions. + Ensure the proper distribution of channels and evaluate the effectiveness of direct booking strategies compared to Online Travel Agencies (OTAs). + Provide insights and recommendations on promotional opportunities, including those aligned with key events, to enhance incremental revenue. **Marketing & Branding (Rooms & Events Focused)** + Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment of sales, events, and promotional activities specifically targeting room bookings. + Work closely together with the Head of Marketing to implement digital strategies related to rooms and events, including online advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), and direct booking campaigns. Coordinate with the team to optimize campaign visibility and achieve success. + Provides commercial insights to ensure that all tactical messaging, content, and promotions effectively communicate key offers and experiences. + Evaluates and leverages oninsightsofguest nationality, booking channels, booking behaviour and length of stays ensuring effective marketing campaigns are deployed to the right audience at the right time. + Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute strategic collaborations with lifestyle, travel, luxury, and event brands to enhance brand visibility and attract new guests. **Cross-Departmental Collaboration** + Collaborate closely with the Front Office, Reservations, Events, and Guest Relations teams to ensure seamless guest experiences and maximize upselling opportunities. + Collaborate with Finance to track ROI on sales, events, and marketing initiatives. + Ensure effective communication and synergy between sales, revenue, events, and marketing teams to align goals and strategies. + Provide strategic insights to leadership on commercial performance and opportunities for improvement. · Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage to ensure alignment for event pricing, service flow, and maximizing event business. **Leadership & Team Development** + Mentor and develop the sales team, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles. + Conduct regular training and performance evaluations to foster continuous professional growth and enhance the team’s performance. + Cultivate a results-oriented and innovative sales culture within the team. + Utilize all available on-the-job training resources for associates, enhance training programs for the team, and develop the skills of team members. + Provide support to other functional areas, including revenue and marketing. **Customer Satisfaction** + Demonstrates exceptional leadership in the hospitality industry, exemplifying outstanding customer service and setting a positive example for team members. + Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels, ensuring continuous improvement. + Observes the service behaviors of associates and provides constructive feedback to individuals and managers, fostering a culture of excellence. + Reviews sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas for enhancement, collaborating closely with all relevant departments to implement corrective actions. + Adheres to Standard’s Customer Service Standards and the hotel’s Brand Standards, ensuring consistent and exceptional customer experiences. + Prioritizes customer satisfaction by comprehending their needs and recommending tailored features and services that exceed their expectations.
