Director of Sales & Marketing

The Director of Sales Marketing will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. Is responsible to provide leadership in all selling activities within the hotel, working closely with the Rooms, Food and Beverage and other revenue-generating departments to achieve optimal occupancy, growth in existing accounts, and generating new business, all to maximize total revenue and meet/exceed hotel profit objectives.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a DOSM in luxury hospitality environmentsPosition ideally based on property in Cancun; remote candidates may be considered if aligned with key feeder markets and luxury experienceOpening experience for luxury resortStrong understanding of luxury positioning and customer experienceStrong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to manage departmental budgets, forecast accurately in dynamic markets.Well versed in consortia and luxury group businessAbility to understand and build strategy based on dataStrategic thinker with proven ability to build strategy and positioning for opening hotelAbility to build teams and drive results with clear expectations and goalsRelationship builder in the community and demonstrate leadership in tourism communityClear understanding of marketing - including social media, digital and traditional marketing - sales, public relations, and guest experience programmingClear understanding of standard analytical tools such as CoStar/STR, Lanyon, Demand 360, and Agency 360Strong communication skills with experience presenting to and managing ownership and asset management groupsMotivator and coach with ability to manage multiple levels of experienceStrong communications skills with experience in presenting and managing ownership groups and asset managementExperience with seasonality and Caribbean or Mexican resorts preferredDemonstrated success operating in dynamic, high-demand luxury hospitality marketsBi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish highly desirable)Previous experience in hotel openings is highly preferred
