Director of Sales Position Overview

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s strategic sales plan, leading all group and business transient efforts, building key market relationships, and maximizing revenue across all segments. This role partners closely with the General Manager, Revenue Management, and Regional Leadership to achieve and exceed budgeted goals.

We are looking for a proactive leader who excels in presentations, thrives in a franchise setting, and is motivated to innovate and drive results.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual sales strategy aligned with revenue objectives

Lead proactive group sales efforts including corporate, association, government, and SMERF markets

Drive business transient production through targeted account development and account management

Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national clients

Identify new market opportunities and competitive positioning strategies

Lead sales reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis

Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing, inventory, and segmentation strategy

Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing sales talent

Represent the hotel in community and industry networking events

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience (Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager preferred)

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue goals

Strong knowledge of group and corporate sales strategies

Experience in lifestyle, upscale, or full-service hotel environments preferred (Hyatt preferred)

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Proficiency in sales systems and CRM platforms

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
