Director of Sales

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales strategy and execution for Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island, overseeing all aspects of proactive and reactive sales, partnership management, and revenue generation initiatives. Based on Platte Island, this role will be instrumental in positioning the resort within the luxury market, driving high-value business, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth while upholding the Waldorf Astoria brand promise of True Waldorf Service.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the resort’s business objectives, focusing on driving room, group, leisure, and corporate sales.

Lead, mentor, and manage the on-property sales team, ensuring performance excellence and professional development.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, luxury travel advisors, consortia, corporate accounts, and destination management companies.

Oversee the preparation and management of annual sales budgets, forecasts, and business plans.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Commercial, Revenue, and Marketing teams to optimize business opportunities and pricing strategies.

Represent the resort at key industry events, trade shows, roadshows, and luxury travel forums, both locally and internationally as required.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities, revenue projections, and market insights.

Uphold Waldorf Astoria’s luxury service culture and ensure alignment with Hilton’s commercial practices and global standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior sales leadership role within a luxury hospitality environment, preferably in resort or island operations.

Proven track record of delivering and exceeding revenue targets in the high-end leisure, corporate, and group segments.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a multi-cultural team.

Experience managing international markets, with established relationships in the luxury travel and MICE sectors considered an advantage.

Fluent in English; or other international languages is an added asset.

Willingness and ability to be based on Platte Island, Seychelles.
