Do you want to be an influencer in healthcare? **Apply for our Director of Safety and Security role today!** **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Director of Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for leading security, environmental health safety, and emergency preparedness across all campuses and locations of Riverside Community Hospital. The incumbent assumes the functional responsibility for overseeing the security activity of the Public Safety Department and leads the process of continuous regulatory and accreditation compliance for Life Safety and Environment of Care. + You will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive employee safety and security management program (ESSC) and workplace violence program for the organization. + You will function as the liaison with management and staff in the operation of the various environmental health compliance and safety program components and keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with relevant federal, state and local statutes, regulations and reporting requirements. + You will develop and administer safety education program for medical center staff and be responsible for organizational compliance with federal and state regulatory standards related to patient and staff safety. + You will assist in the administration of the HCA Healthy Work Environment program and collaborates in the employee health and occupational safety program and loss prevention and continually improve processes and services throughout the organization that impact environmental health and safety, emergency preparedness and associated regulatory compliance programs. + You will lead fire and emergency preparedness drills and actual plan implementation, as well as coordinate periodic surveys of the facility to ensure compliance with all fire, electrical and general safety requirements, and submits reports to the Environment of Care Committee and appropriate department for action. **What qualifications you will need:** + Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, or other applicable field required. Master’s Degree preferred. + Healthcare/hospital experience in Safety/Security, Emergency Management, and/or Occupational Safety + Seven or more years related experience in healthcare preferred. + Minimum of four years of experience in Safety/Security and/or loss control or training preferred. + Certification in safety/security professions preferred - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (ASHE Certification); Certified Safety Professional or certified Industrial Hygiene certificate; California State Guard Card; California Expandable Baton and Chemical Agents Permit + Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental health and safety related laws and regulations + Experience in group facilitation and processes + Knowledge of current safety and risk management practices, loss control, claim management and federal and state regulatory compliance standards Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County.
