As a member of the hotel’s Executive Committee, the Director of Rooms plays a key leadership role with visibility to senior and corporate leadership. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Rooms Division—including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Security.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead all aspects of the Rooms Division, ensuring operational excellence and elevated guest experiences.
· Drive room revenue and occupancy through rate analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
· Manage labor expenses and productivity, including schedule approvals and department budgeting.
· Oversee and coordinate large events and high-occupancy periods, ensuring smooth execution across departments.
· Monitor daily reports, house counts, and credit activity to maintain accuracy and resolve variances.
· Collaborate on capital projects, renovations, and major operational initiatives.
· Conduct weekly Rooms Division meetings and monthly financial reviews with department leaders.
· Hire, train, mentor, and develop department leaders in alignment with Hyatt’s values and service culture.
· Participate in the hotel’s Manager-on-Duty (MOD) program and support cross-functional initiatives.
**Qualifications:**
Qualifications:
· Progressive leadership experience in luxury hotel operations, with strong knowledge of all Rooms departments.
· Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into operational success.
· Experience creating and implementing standards, procedures, and long-term strategies.
· Effective communicator and team leader who fosters a culture of accountability and excellence.
· Previous Executive Committee or senior Rooms leadership experience preferred.

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
+ 6 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms experience (typically with Hyatt)
+ With opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
+ Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
+ At least 5 years experience in a senior role in a hotel rooms area
+ Proven leadership skills
+ Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
+ Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
+ Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
+ Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
