DIRECTOR OF ROOMS

We are currently undergoing a strategic transition: our hotel will move from operating under the Dream Hotels brand to becoming part of Bunkhouse Hotels. This change reflects our commitment to delivering a unique and authentic experience for our guests.

Bunkhouse Valle de Guadalupe is a luxury lifestyle resort located in the heart of Mexico wine country. Spanning over 1 km, the resort has well-appointed guestrooms and suites, feature restaurant with roof terrace, pool, and over 50,000 sqm of vineyards with a proprietary wine brand.


The Director of Rooms is responsible for directing the activities of the Housekeeping, Laundry, Public Areas, and Front Office departments of the Hotel, for the proper operation, maintenance, cleaning, and securing of the building’s facilities and guestrooms.


The DOR ensures their departments’ success, and provides quality services and a safe, clean, and secure environment to both guests and employees.

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in hotel management in Mexico.

Experience in supervising the Housekeeping and Front Office departments.

Experience working in the Valle de Guadalupe region or familiarity with the region is an advantage.

Proven ability to oversee daily operations of spa facilities, including staff supervision, budget control, and service quality assurance.

Skilled in implementing wellness programs, optimizing guest experience, and driving revenue through innovative treatments and personalized services.

Preferably have previous experience in openings in a Director position.

Must speak English and Spanish; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Previous experience in "LifeStyle" hotel leadership is preferred.

Experience working with both unionized and non-unionized staff is required.

Business acumen and forward-thinking approach for cost reduction initiatives, seasonal scheduling efficiencies, short- and long-term goal planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss analysis, capital projects, and facilities management.

Quality service standards applicable to your area.

Advanced principles of management (planning, organization, direction, and control) applied to your department. Complaint handling and resolution. Sales skills.

Knowledge of hotel management software (Opera).

Possess a lead-from-the-front mentality, remain constantly engaged with your team, and act as an ambassador for the property, as well as the Bunkhouse and Hyatt brands.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with: Property; Corporate; management, employees, hotel guests and suppliers; and the community.

Ability to communicate effectively and calmly handle workplace challenges, proposing corrective solutions when identifying challenges.

Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial and other presentations effectively and confidently, both orally and in writing.

Ability to work flexible hours and be present as required by business demand levels.

Knowledgeable of current health and safety guidelines related to COVID-19 response management.

Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Suite, PMS (property management system), BMS, and other commonly used hotel systems.

Legal authorization to work in Mexico. Knowledgeable of all applicable regulations and legislation in Mexico, including health, safety, and hygiene codes and fire/human safety/construction regulations.
