Director of Racquets
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Director of Racquets to join our team at the Country Club of Colorado. As the Director of Racquets, you will lead all racquets sports instructional programs, organize events, and provide exceptional coaching to players of all skill levels. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, helping players improve their game and fostering a vibrant racquets sports community.  

The general purpose of the role it to design, plan and implement tennis and pickleball programs to include special events and clinics.

Essential Duties:

· Supervises all racquets play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.

· Initiates, directs and promotes racquets clinics and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ interests.

· Develops, implements and supervises lesson programs provided by instructors for adults and juniors.

· Coordinates with racquets team captains regarding the team selection process.

· Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.

· Develops and executes a detailed annual (monthly) calendar of events.

· Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership.

· Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to Engineering.

· Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons to include the online management of Court Reserve.

· Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Instructors, desk staff, court maintenance staff.

· Coordinates and holds weekly staff meetings with professional staff.

· Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.

· Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.

· Participates as a Club Manager on leadership team meetings and resort & club events as needed.

· Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction.

· Manages all payroll for the racquets department and submits for payment bi-weekly.

· Regular and reliable attendance.

· Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

· Other Club duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Associate’s degree (AA); and three to five years related experience as a head tennis professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification (Tennis & Pickleball)

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

· Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).

· Possess U.S.T.A. rating of 5.0 or better.
