This role is based in Sunnyvale, California, within the Ion Chromatography and Sample Preparation Business Unit at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our R&D team leads the way in Ion Chromatography innovation and product development.

A day in the Life:

Build and manage a high-performance team Global R&D team passionate about developing outstanding, customer-delighting chemistry diagnostic solutions that leverage AI/MLRecognizes and interprets emerging trends and provides strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure the R&D strategy is aligned with the Business Unit's short and long term visionSets the bar for how experimental data is used to impact the Product Development process and be accountable for Quality, Cost and Delivery of the productUses technical and patent landscape knowledge to drive collaboration and opportunities to combine technologiesEffectively collaborates with the cross-function leaders to develop and complete new product roadmap, while maintaining budget requirements, meeting deadlines and quality standardsCultivate a culture of inclusion, diversity, collaboration, innovation, discovery, and innovative R&D culture focused on scientific excellence, open communication, and continual improvementDevelop and mentor the team, upgrade capabilities, and recruit/retain outstanding talent

Qualification

MS/Ph.D. degree in an Engineering field or Science with 15+ years leading R&D project teams and developing and launching instrumentation for diagnostics.Track record of excellence and innovation as demonstrated by multiple platform launches of innovation, thorough understanding of quality systems, patents, and Multi-Generational Project Planning (MGPP) execution.Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for participating in a fast-paced environment characterized by rigorous science, engineering excellence, and innovative thinking.Significant experience leading global, multi-cultural, strong multi-disciplinary teams with demonstrated application of engineering principles to diagnostic Instrumentation.Proven track record in influencing across the organization at all levels through direct leadership and functional partnerships.Outstanding business strategy, financial competences, and analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,100.00–$264,050.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
