Job Summary
Director of Operations – HTPN Orthopedics plans, oversees, and leads daily operations of clinics for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH). This includes all clinic units, professional services, and support functions. Responsible for ensuring BSWH clinics deliver high-quality patient care and efficient services cost-effectively. Oversees the development and implementation of clinic plans, policies, and programs to achieve financial, service, quality, regulatory, and community goals. Manages activities to assess and improve clinic programs, processes, and practices. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local laws, accrediting standards, and BSWH policies. May represent clinics to external authorities. Works with the region President, clinical leadership, and BSWH executive team to improve and grow clinic operations according to BSWH strategies and goals.
An entity Director translates and implements strategic plans and goals for their area. Makes final judgments on operational matters and ensures goals are achieved. Recommends policies and organizational changes for the area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual goals. Plans and directs department operations, handling staffing, processes, budgets, and costs. Manages and advises subordinates to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Oversees a larger, more complex organization or area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to them.
Essential Functions of the Role
Directs clinic operations for assigned area of responsibility for BSWH.Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and goals for the clinic practices aligned to BSWH overall business objectives.Manages all aspects of clinic operations. Assigns work, organizes resources, resolves customer escalations, and assesses service delivery. Provides quality patient care and high customer satisfaction.Develops, reviews, and implements clinic policies, procedures, and programs for assigned area of responsibility.Identifies and implements operational improvements and best practices. These include workflow changes, technology, automation, metrics, reporting, and other tools. The goal is to improve clinical outcomes and ensure high customer satisfaction.Manages external vendor management relationships and negotiates vendor contracts in accordance with system policy.Collaborates with senior leadership and stakeholders to propose and develop new clinic site plans and programs. This includes design, construction, and clinic set-up.Serves as a liaison between clinic and local hospital administration in achieving strategic alignment.Drives practice growth including recruitment, training and onboarding of physicians and advanced practitioners.Ensures all practices are compliant with applicable legal and regulatory requirements impacting clinic operations.This role typically manages the scope outlined below:

Key Success Factors
Bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration, or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred.3+ years of experience in management of clinic operations, hospital operations, or related area.Experience in a leadership role preferred.Experience working with physicians and other medical providers is preferred.Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle difficult people and difficult situations.Knowledge and experience with the principles and practical applications of healthcare operations management.Excellent written and verbal skills are required.Belonging Statement
