Job Summary Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, a 654-bed, award-winning, four-time Magnet®-recognized tertiary care hospital, located in the heart of Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced and visionary women’s and children’s senior nurse leader to guide a high-performing healthcare team and help shape the future of nursing and patient care services. The Director of Nursing for Women’s and Children’s is responsible for 24/7 clinical operations and leads a broad and dynamic portfolio of programs and nursing units, including labor & delivery, mother/baby, high risk maternity, GYN medical/surgical, level IV NICU, pediatric med/surg, PICU, and pediatric intermediate, lactation, and child/life. This leadership role has four direct report nurse managers and approximately 350 indirect reports. The Director collaborates with stakeholders across departments and facilities to coordinate clinical services and contributes strategic insight at both the system and regional levels. Accountable for operational and financial performance, in addition to outcomes for quality, safety, and patient and team member experience. Oversees clinical operations and ensures efficient use of human and material resources to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care. Stays up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to women's and children's health and incorporates them into the department's operations. Qualifications Education: BSN required. Master’s degree in nursing or closely related field, required. Licensure: Current RN or compact licensure in an applicable state, required. Certification: Specialty-specific certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire (Examples: CPN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, NE, NEA, CENP, CPEN) Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience, in women’s and/or children’s services, at the manager level or above, required. Ideally, 2-5 years of experience at the director level or above in a large, high-volume and complex facility Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of clinical operations, healthcare trends, and regulatory standards Proficient in performance management, budgeting, staffing, and resource planning Excellent communication, decision-making, and strategic leadership skills Ability to manage conflict, foster collaboration, and lead multidisciplinary teams Skilled in employee development, coaching, and progressive discipline Adept at building consensus and cultivating trust across diverse stakeholder groups Demonstrated ability to lead change, promote innovation, and exceed patient and team expectations Job Opening ID 112487
