Job Description Job summary Rosewood Hotel Group seeks a visionary Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the launch and strategic marketing of Rosewood Ranfaru Maldives, positioning it as a leader in the ultra-luxury segment while aligning with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ strategic vision. This role will champion a comprehensive 360-degree marketing approach, seamlessly integrating traditional and digital channels, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing, social media, events, partnerships, and content creation. Reporting to the Managing Director and collaborating closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, the position ensures cohesive, elevated brand messaging across all global touchpoints. The ideal candidate will craft holistic strategies, cultivate impactful partnerships, and generate demand for the property, showcasing Rosewood as the most culturally invested luxury lifestyle destination. Success in this role requires expertise in content creation and production, deep local cultural insights and networks, and proficiency in both online and offline marketing channels. A sharp business acumen is essential to identify market opportunities and bridge gaps for luxury audiences locally and internationally. This role also entails maintaining an exceptional reputation for the resort and the Rosewood brand among media, guests, owners, and associates. Experience in luxury lifestyle sectors—such as retail, travel, entertainment, or agencies—within the region is highly advantageous. Essential duties and responsibilities – (Key activities) Develops and executes a comprehensive 360-degree marketing and communications plan, positioning the resort as a leader in the ultra-luxury segment and ensuring alignment with annual KPIs and business objectives. Manages the annual MarComm budget, including corporate matrix recharges, with a focus on ROI, investment optimization, and strategic resource allocation. Leads pre-opening marketing efforts, including strategizing the launch campaign across all channels, developing the property positioning and brand playbook, and overseeing the pre-opening budget oversight, ensuring alignment with long-term goals. Actively participates in Annual Business Plan preparation in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the ExComm team, ensuring marketing objectives support property vision and revenue goals across all business segments. Manages PR, marketing, and social media agencies, overseeing RFPs, onboarding, performance tracking, and acting as the primary contact for media, influencers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs). Develops strategic media engagement initiatives such as hosting events, press trips, and one-on-one engagements to foster brand advocacy, achieve media exposure goals, and build long-term community. Collaborates with the corporate Brand Marketing and Communications team to craft compelling story angles, produce press releases, and secure global feature opportunities. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with local and international media to drive impactful editorial coverage, building positive brand awareness across all revenue streams. Leads crisis communication efforts, ensuring timely, transparent responses to protect the resort's reputation both online and offline. Ensures quality control and proofreading for all marketing materials, ensuring print and digital assets are consistently updated and adhere to brand standards and guidelines. Partners with Operations to integrate programming plans, such as F&B, Wellness, and Entertainment, into a 360-marketing approach that balances tactical needs with broader campaigns. Drives brand storytelling through editorial content, paid media campaigns, partnerships, and public relations, aligning with Rosewood’s creative direction. Plans and oversees content creation, including briefing creative agencies, coordinating photo and video shoots, and producing high-quality social media and marketing assets. Manages website content and performance in collaboration with Commercial Directors and the Rosewood Corporate team, focusing on SEO, user-centric updates, and enhanced bookings to drive revenue and engagement. Integrates social, digital, and traditional media into a unified 360-marketing strategy, working with the digital marketing manager to deliver cohesive messaging and impactful campaigns. Collaborates with Rosewood’s Digital and Marketing Teams to execute tactical campaigns, ensuring brand-focused assets align with performance-driven objectives. Directs social media management, ensuring content production, performance tracking, and reporting reflect the ultra-luxury and lifestyle positioning. Develops and oversees CRM and EDM strategies to nurture guest relationships, enhance personalization, and maximize revenue through targeted campaigns. Identifies and secures strategic partnerships with aligned brands to enhance visibility, co-create exceptional guest experiences and elevate the property’s profile, generating potential new revenue streams. Tracks and analyzes performance metrics to refine marketing strategies, leveraging data-driven insights for continuous optimization. Presents plans and reports on results to stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, including the corporate brand team, Managing Director, and Director of Sales & Marketing, ensuring transparency and accountability. Conducts market research and monitors industry trends to implement innovative and guest-focused strategies. Acts as a Brand Champion, collaborating with department heads to activate dynamic guest experiences and evolve marketing strategies through innovation. Drives collaborative marketing initiatives with sister resorts and represents the resort at trade shows, exhibitions, client events, and group promotions to create synergies and enhance the brand’s profile. Supports Talent & Culture by promoting the resort’s mission through internal campaigns and a LinkedIn strategy to enhance engagement and attract top talent. Required Skills and Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of experience in luxury marketing and communications, preferably in retail, entertainment, lifestyle, or hospitality. Proven track record in leading 360-degree marketing, including digital marketing, partnerships, social media, and creative campaign ideation. Strong understanding of earned, owned, and paid media channels (online and offline) and related tools. Proficiency in CRM systems, lifecycle marketing strategies, email marketing, website and SEO optimization, and performance analytics. Skilled in stakeholder and team management, fostering collaboration to achieve shared goals. Ability to influence and negotiate funding, as well as to pitch compelling business ideas. Expertise in managing media, social, PR and creative agencies, ensuring ROI and performance-driven outcomes. Experience in budget planning, accountability, and optimizing resources for impactful results. Adept at identifying marketing opportunities, building partnerships, and driving co-branded initiatives to enhance visibility and create exceptional guest experiences. Deep understanding of local and feeder markets, with the ability to leverage cultural insights and networks to inform strategic marketing decisions. Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate actionable insights, and develop strategies to achieve business goals. Proven ability to plan and execute high-profile events with precision, managing stakeholders and timelines effectively. A forward-thinking professional with the ability to anticipate challenges, propose creative solutions, and adapt to evolving circumstances with a resourceful and results-driven approach.
