Director of Maintenance

As a Director of Maintenance, you will be tasked with overseeing and managing all maintenance operations to guarantee smooth operations across various locations and upcoming expansions. The preferred candidate will need to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of all equipment and systems, manage a team of maintenance technicians, and establish preventative maintenance initiatives. The Director of Maintenance also provides leadership to all operating teams and has key responsibilities in employee safety. This role requires a solid understanding of multiple maintenance components.


Essential duties of the position:

Develop and implement maintenance procedures, schedules, and protocols to ensure optimal functioning of all facilities, including buildings and grounds.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to acquire necessary parts and services for equipment maintenance and repair.Supervise & schedules reactive and proactive maintenance plans to the staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of workmanship.Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of direct reports.Manage inventory of equipment parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing excess inventory.Collaborate with the operators to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance activities.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, purchases, vendor communications, and equipment performance.Evaluate maintenance processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as needed.Performs root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implements corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Leads and manages maintenance projects such as upgrades, retrofitting, and overhauls, ensuring that projects or tasks are completed on time and within the budget.Provides maintenance employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of departmental operations.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 


Position Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years' proven experience in maintenance and people management, with a strong understanding of maintenance processes and best practices.Strong time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.Strong leadership and mentoring skills.Proficiency in computer applications, including maintenance management software and Microsoft Office suite.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consult effectively with direct reports, team members, vendors, and stakeholders.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
