Director Of Laboratory Operations
Job Title: Director of Laboratory OperationsJob Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Laboratory Operations to lead and supervise our laboratory staff. This role involves overseeing hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. You will build and manage a strong leadership team to ensure the smooth running of daily lab operations, develop and manage departmental budgets, and drive cost-effective operations while maintaining high levels of client and employee satisfaction. You will also set and communicate short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise all laboratory staff, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.Build and manage a strong leadership team to oversee daily lab operations.Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.Drive cost-effective operations while maintaining high levels of client and employee satisfaction.Set and communicate short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational initiatives.Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards through accurate recordkeeping and reporting.Collaborate with supervisors to address staffing challenges and implement effective solutions.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Physical Science, OR Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 8+ years of clinical lab experience and 3+ years in a management/supervisory role.Active laboratory certification (CLS, MLS, MT, or equivalent) — non-negotiable.3+ years of progressive leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.3+ years of direct management experience.Proven leadership in a hospital laboratory environment.Expertise in Hematology, Core Lab, Chemistry, and Pathology.
Additional Skills & QualificationsHospital laboratory experience.
Work Environment

You will be part of a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. You will be responsible for managing 40 FTEs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Westwood, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $101000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
