Director of Information Governance
**Job Summary:** You will be a member of IQVIA Research and Development Solutions (R&DS) Information Governance team, supporting the implementation of a programmatic approach to information governance activities in R&DS on a global scale. “Information governance” refers to the implementation of controls to effectuate the responsible use of information processed by IQVIA along the data life cycle. Requirements for responsible use of information are sourced from various disciplines and activities, including data privacy, information security, contracts, intellectual property, company policies and procedures, AI compliance requirements, commercial requirements, etc. **Job Overview:** The Director of Information Governance will play a pivotal role in ensuring our business adheres to IQVIA’s standards for data privacy and information governance. This position will support the implementation and management of data privacy policies, compliance initiatives, and information governance strategies across all our clinical operations, lab operations and AI development. **Essential Functions:** + Review fact scenarios related to data processing, identify issues related to data protection, privacy, contractual obligations, legal or other regulatory factors, and recommend fit-for—purpose solutions using existing guidance. + Review contracts to understand contractual obligations around data use, suggest alternative language for contract negotiations. + Meet with customers on information governance topics. + Consult internal subject matter experts to understand IQVIA’s position relative to issues identified. + Attend bid defenses and audits to represent IQVIA’s information governance program. + Maintain records of questions/answers/guidance and build future guidance documents for re-use. + Use critical thinking and logic to create tools and guidance that implement corporate policies in business processes. + Assess and assist system owners’ implementation of information governance requirements for the appropriate processing of data in over 100 countries. + Analyze information to identify capability gaps in the context of data privacy, security, contractual obligation, regulatory considerations, and changes in industry standards in lab systems and operations + Lead, manage, or monitor information governance projects, provide expert guidance on implementing information governance controls related to governance and AI projects. + Encourage new ideas to foster improvements through innovation. + Promote and exhibit collaboration and positive teamwork. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in technology, science, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience required. + You are detail oriented and eager to learn about information governance on a global scale + Success in this role requires a working, hands-on knowledge of GDPR, NIST, contract law, and clinical regulations that allow you to identify issues in fact patterns and apply the appropriate existing guidance in a fit-for-purpose solution that meets business needs. + Minimum 5 years’ experience applying information governance controls, data privacy, security technology, legal obligations preferred. + CIPP, CIPM, JD preferred IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
