Director of Human Resources (Pre-Opening Team)

We are currently looking for a Director of Human Resources, who will lead and manage Human Resources related activities. Hilton Kuwait Resort will re-open shortly after a full renovation and this role is ideal for a candidate with pre-opening managerial skills.


What will I be doing?

As a Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for the effective management and performance of all Human Resources related activities. This includes recruitment, legal, talent management, succession planning, learning and development and training, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and health and safety initiatives. Specifically, the Director of Human Resources will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Plan and forecast the short and long-term talent requirements for the hotel to support its business plansMaintain the best recruitment practice, including the Company's vacancy management system, to attract the best applicantsBuild a strong career and succession planning system to retain and develop talentImplement training and development strategies to continuously improve performance and customer serviceOversee the hotel's human resources database and payroll systemProvide a framework for counseling, coaching, and welfare servicesManage the Opinion Survey and the calendar of Team Member social eventsManage and resolve, promptly and completely, all employee relations issuesMaintain an awareness of competitor human resources activities and best practices

 

What are we looking for?

A Director of Human Resources serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this specific role, you should have key responsibilities for Hotel Pre-Opening Leaders, including maintaining the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

Project Management: Oversee timelines, budgets, and resources; manage construction, procurement, and vendor coordination; ensure compliance with deadlines and regulations.Strategic Planning: Develop and execute pre-opening plans; set priorities, anticipate challenges, and establish operational workflows.Operational Readiness: Support all department manning levels are prepared; coordinate training and brand standards implementation. Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, and train staff; foster collaboration and maintain team focus under pressure.Financial Management: Manage pre-opening budgets; monitor forecasts; negotiate vendor contracts and control costs.Brand Standards: Ensure consistency in design, service, and operations aligned with brand guidelines.Problem-Solving: Address unexpected issues quickly; manage risks and maintain safety compliance.Attention to Detail: Oversee final construction, design, and furnishing; ensure operational processes meet quality standards.Communication: Maintain transparent updates with owners, investors, and stakeholders; represent the project in pre-opening events.     Adaptability: Adjust plans as needed; stay resilient under fast-paced, high-pressure conditions. Customer Focus: Ensure guest experience remains the top priority from day one.

Ideally you also have a degree in Human Resources or related field. Plus
