Guests choose Hyatt because of our dedicated colleagues who deliver personalized service and create authentic connections—every day, in every interaction. **Director of Human Resources** As a member of the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Executive Committee, the Director of Human Resources is a highly visible leadership role with regular interaction with senior hotel leadership and Corporate partners. This role is responsible for aligning people strategies with operational and service initiatives to support the hotel’s overall business objectives. The Human Resources function operates with a strong foundation of service excellence, integrity, accountability, and partnership. This position reports directly to the Hotel General Manager. _Key Responsibilities:_ The Director of Human Resources provides both strategic leadership and hands‑on guidance across the full scope of the HR function, including short‑ and long‑term planning initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with Hyatt standards and business needs + Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing strategies to support hotel operations + Oversee wage and salary administration, benefits programs, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations + Support operational leaders through effective staffing, onboarding, and training initiatives + Conduct needs assessments and design, implement, and evaluate training and development programs + Advise and coach leaders on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of policies and regulatory requirements + Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims in coordination with internal partners and third‑party administrators + Conduct and analyze wage and salary surveys to support competitive compensation practices + Provide employee counseling and guidance when appropriate + Plan and coordinate associate engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications + Actively participate in professional HR organizations and maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices + Partner closely with Hyatt Corporate Human Resources to ensure alignment and consistency + Coach and counsel associates and leaders to uphold Hyatt service standards and values _Qualifications:_ + Minimum of six (6) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably within hospitality or a similarly complex service environment + Strong service‑oriented leadership style with polished professional presentation skills + Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across diverse teams + Proven success in high‑volume, fast‑paced operations + Effective communicator with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English + Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel + Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills + Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and regulatory compliance **Why Join Hyatt** Hyatt colleagues work in an environment that values excellence, integrity, and growth.
