This person collaborates with the hotel leadership team to align our culture and talent with Hyatt’s purpose of caring for others so they can be their best. Their primary focus involves supporting and coaching managers to create high performance teams, deliver an outstanding employee experience, drive leadership development and fuel Hyatt’s talent pipeline. They advise and mentor leaders with a focus on helping them be more effective in serving and inspiring their colleagues and in turn drive business results. **Role:** _Arrival Experience_ · Work with department leaders to ensure all new colleagues receive an inspirational welcome, representative of our Purpose and Brand in order to Increase retention at all levels and cultivate the best people · Ensure all communication and heart of the house areas are reflective our Culture and Brand with specific focus on high colleague touch points · Ensure transferring colleagues receive timely information for a smooth transition on on-boarding experience at their new location _Culture_ · Protect and enhance Hyatt’s strong culture, communicate and live Hyatt’s purpose and values to improve engagement metrics and increase the number of actively engaged colleagues year over year · Partner with the leadership team to develop and support a plan to deliver on the hotel’s purpose and achieve hotel goals · Identify colleague experiences unique to your hotel and ensure effective execution throughout the year · Mentor leaders and serve as a point of contact for colleague engagement initiatives · Partner with hotel leaders to implement a sustainable plan to deliver improved engagement results year over year in each department · Conduct engagement training with new managers during on-boarding process · Partner with GM to review and update progress monthly · Grow with intent by coaching and developing leaders to align their behaviors with our Purpose and ensure readiness for future opportunities · Partner with LC Members to have regular feedback meetings and critical conversations with their leaders to create high performing teams. · Inspire team leaders by focusing on not only what we achieve but how we achieve it · Identify and support new leaders to increase our talent pool by having meaningful Talent Review discussions minimally twice per year · Provide leaders with guidance and support to align business goals with Hyatt’s Strategic priorities · Coach leaders to have clearly defined performance expectations and goals · Partner with operations leaders to deliver on the hotels NPS and engagement priorities _Growth & Learning_ · Embrace the HR Process Review to create efficiencies, maximize the talents of the team and align HR priorities with our Purpose and Brand · Embrace change and guide hotel leaders to support the area structure · Partner with Area Learning Manager to fuel the talent pipeline by supporting managers on leadership development, succession planning, talent reviews and individual development plans · Ensure all managers have development plans and review progress every six months · Partner with the leadership team to identify gaps in skills and create plans to address those gaps in conjunction with the bi annual Talent Review · Coordinate additional on site learning opportunities in support of colleagues and leaders · Ensure completion of new hire and annual compliance training · Drive and support New Manager Training _Serve_ · Point of contact for Leadership of day to day HR operations, Hotel-wide engagement, recognition, colleague issues/concerns · Creating a culture of giving/receiving feedback by coordinating colleague feedback meetings, check in meetings and empathy interviews to learn how we can support our colleagues so they can be their best. · Build trust with colleagues and strategic partners to achieve our goal of becoming the most preferred hospitality company, loved and respected by all · Identify and apply for local industry awards and hotel recognition · Identify meaningful Thrive initiates that support the local community · General HR questions / inquiries / legal issues · Respond to employment complaints/charges as needed · Partner with Area Recruiting Manager on various projects · Oversee administration of Hyatt policies, federal, state and local laws/ordinances · Review records retention, data security and legal poster compliance · Ensure financial management of HR budget to maintain/control expenses to contribute to the hotel and Hyatt’s overall financial success · Complete annual budgeting/wage plans _Departure Experience_ · Facilitate departure experience and exit interviews, using data to provide feedback to our leaders and continue to improve our colleague experiences and reduce turnover · Conduct exit interviews for all managers/supervisors · Coordinate unemployment responses and attend hearings · Properly thank colleagues as they depart Hyatt.
