The Director plays a pivotal role in leading the company’s HR operations and organizational programs. This position is responsible for advancing HR systems, employee onboarding, and leveraging data analytics to inform strategic business decisions. The role blends deep expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and business practices to support equitable pay systems, strengthen workforce planning, and drive overall organizational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in human resources leadership within a multi-state healthcare organization of 2,000+ employees, including a strong background in union/collective bargaining environments.
Hire, onboard new employees, and negotiate employment agreements. Develop and implement HR policies for an entire organization. Ensure that a company remains in compliance with laws and regulations. Oversee Human Resource employees to ensure efficient daily workflows and train the Human Resource employees. Discipline and terminate employees. Collaborate with executives and senior leadershipto align HR policies with the company's strategic goals. Conduct research, analyze organizational trends and execute best practices for hiring, talent management and retention. Plan and execute HR functions strategically, such as compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, occupational safety, employee communications, employee experience and employee relations Develop and manage the budget for the human resources department. Conduct market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices. Evaluate and recommend adjustments to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness. Partner with leadership to develop and manage job evaluation processes, salary grade assignments, and compensation-related policies. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local compensation regulations. Oversee the human resources service center to provide excellent support to employees and resolve HR-related inquiries. Monitor service center performance and implement improvements to enhance service delivery. Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Oversee the maintenance and optimization of HR information systems to ensure accurate and efficient data management. Lead HRIS projects, including system upgrades and implementations. Ensure data integrity and security within HRIS systems. Ensure compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements of local, state and regulatory federal agencies. Prepare and present HR metrics and reports to senior management.Ensure audits are conducted to maintain data accuracy and compliance. Select, coach, mentor and develop the HR Operations team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Manage team performance and provide regular feedback. Review and evaluate employee performance. Collaborate with business leaders to develop strategies and provide human resources support. Responsible for the establishment and adherence to department budget.
Qualifications
Prefer bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or 10 years of experience in HR operations with equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Excel, HRIS platforms, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Experience in the healthcare industry, union relations and collective bargaining agreements. Strong knowledge of compensation laws and regulations, including FLSA and pay equity standards. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders. Prefer SPHR or SCP certification. Prefer prior experience in a skilled nursing organization.
