The Director of Global Operations will lead Fontaine Fifth Wheel’s international manufacturing footprint within Marmon Transportation Products Group. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence across facilities in Matamoros, Mexico, and Lowton, UK, while maintaining close alignment with the U.S. headquarters in Jasper, Alabama. The role will focus on Lean transformation, plant transitions, automation, and cross-border team integration to enable scalable, sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic leader with proven experience in global manufacturing, operational change, and talent development, who can deliver near-term results while shaping the long-term future of the business.

Position Overview:We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director of Global Operations to lead international manufacturing operations, with primary responsibility for facilities in Matamoros, Mexico and Lowton, UK, and regular interaction with the U.S. headquarters in Jasper, Alabama.This is a senior leadership role tasked with driving Lean transformation, operational scalability, and cross-border team integration. The role will oversee major plant transitions, making it ideal for a leader experienced in large-scale, multi-site projects.

We are looking for someone with a strong Lean foundation and operational depth, who can navigate cultural, logistical, and organizational complexity while building talent pipelines and aligning operations with long-term business strategy.Key Responsibilities:Lead operational strategy and execution across global manufacturing sites, with emphasis on Mexico and UK/ Germany.  Drive Lean Manufacturing deployment in line with Marmon principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and scale sustainable practices.Champion automation and digitization initiatives that enhance productivity and scalability, including development and execution of project business cases for capital investments.Oversee and support achievement of site performance, KPIs, and leadership development at each facility; build robust talent pipelines and succession plans.Direct and support high-impact initiatives including plant relocations, consolidations, and greenfield builds; champion plan creation, drive execution of milestones to achieve payback.Promote automation and digital solutions to streamline operations and support long-term growth.Ensure full compliance with safety, labor, environmental, and corporate regulatory standards.Serve as a key bridge between executive leadership and global plant teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and alignment.Personally lead ongoing lean transformation and cultural change to embed our core values, elevate safety standards, build trust, and accountability, on our operational excellence journey.Travel up to 70%, with a heavy presence in Mexico; regular trips to UK and U.S. HQ.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations,  with proven success leading multi-site or global teams.Formal training in Lean Manufacturing with hands-on experience in continuous improvement and operational excellence.Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills with experience managing budgets and performance metrics; experience with prioritization ofProven experience with plant relocations, consolidations, or greenfield facility launches, including in Mexico and/or Europe.Culturally adept, with ability to operate across international environments time zones, and lead through influence.Change agent – prepare for and embrace the anticipated change needed and guide the operations through tough challenges while respecting the legacy and history of the teams.Results oriented – has track record for results delivery, takes ownership and is accountable.Understands the need to, and is able to pragmatically handle, the balance of short-term priorities that deliver results in year, vs the medium and longer term transformational priorities needed for future success.

Preferred Qualifications:Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred; must have experience operating in Mexico and navigating cross-cultural business norms.Background in automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy-duty truck, or Tier 1 supplier environments.Familiarity with automation, digitization, and data-driven manufacturing platforms.Knowledge of international compliance standards for labor and manufacturing operations.Demonstrated ability to build and mentor site leadership and operational talent.
