Director of FP&A and Strategy
Description We have a client located in Wayne, NJ that is seeking a highly skilled, professional, and proactive Director of FP& A and Strategy to provide essential financial and analytical support that will drive company growth and profitability. This role requires exceptional analytical abilities to transform financial data into strategic insights, empowering leadership to make informed decisions and execute key initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, thrives in a collaborative environment, and demonstrates a passion for creating value across cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities for the Director of FP& A and Strategy + Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders, private equity owners, and lenders, ensuring accuracy and clarity. + Business Performance Insights: Analyze trends and performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity, propose improvements, and articulate findings to leadership. + Budget Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing performance evaluations, providing detailed variance analysis and actionable insights to support strategic decisions. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key teams across the organization to support cohesive, data-driven decision-making processes and strategic initiatives. + Growth Opportunity Assessment: Design frameworks and tools to evaluate and prioritize various growth opportunities, enabling informed resource allocation. + Efficiency and Cost Optimization: Identify and implement strategies for process improvements, automation, and resource optimization to achieve cost savings and drive operational excellence. + System Enhancements: Collaborate on system improvement initiatives, providing finance representation and expertise in enhancements and implementations. Requirements + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA is a strong advantage. + Experience: Prior experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and strategic decision support. Experience in private equity-backed environments is preferred but not required. + Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data, translating insights into impactful recommendations. + Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis tools. + Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders. + Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while building strong relationships across departments. + Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving. + Mindset: A passion for driving growth and continuous improvement, paired with a deep commitment to achieving business success.
