Director of Finance / Park Hyatt Niseko HANAZONO

The Finance Director at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono is responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the hotel, including cash management, payables, audit and controls, accounting and reporting, budgeting, credit and collections, insurance, and tax. This role ensures that all finance activities are conducted in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and Hyatt standards, while providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial information to the owners, General Manager, and management team.

The Finance Director also leads the Accounting, IT, and Materials Management departments, ensuring effective coordination across all finance-related operations.

Key Responsibilities

・Analyze financial results, strategies, and tactics, and communicate findings to hotel teams, regional teams, and ownership
・Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting
・Review and approve budgets, capital expenditure plans, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
・Ensure accurate hotel financial forecasting in line with Hyatt standards
・Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements
・Act as the primary contact for internal and external audits
・Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
・Safeguard assets, inventories, and financial information
・Oversee sound cash management practices and ensure sufficient cash flow for operations
・Review petty cash claims, cashier reports, purchase requests, and disbursements
・Administer credit and collection procedures
・Oversee payroll processing and compliance
・Ensure taxes, licenses, fees, vendor records, and travel agent commission payments are managed appropriately
・Support hotel strategy, performance improvement initiatives, guest service, and financial profitability

Qualifications

・University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field
・Professional accounting designation preferred
・Strong knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, reporting, audit, and internal controls
・Knowledge of GAAP and employment-related legislation
・Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
・Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
・Proven leadership and team management capabilities
・Ability to work effectively with senior management, owners, internal teams, and external stakeholders
・Ability to communicate effectively in both Japanese and English, verbally and in writing, is preferred
・Flexibility to work additional hours during audits, month-end/year-end closing, and reporting cycles

Qualifications
