Director of Finance
Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to lead and oversee the financial operations of Altria Theater and Dominion Energy Center in Richmond, Virginia. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage all accounting functions, ensure compliance, and contribute to the organization’s financial planning and forecasting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial management practices. Responsibilities: • Supervise day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and box office/ticketing processes while maintaining internal controls. • Manage budgeting and forecasting activities, including operating budgets, monthly forecasts, capital budgets, and cash flow analyses. • Prepare financial statements, budget reports, and event flash reports with precision and timeliness. • Collaborate with external auditors to complete annual audits and issue audited financial statements. • Monitor and manage the facility’s cash flow, investing surplus funds and maintaining operational account balances. • Supervise the preparation of manual journal entries, fixed asset records, and payroll accounting to ensure complete and accurate financial documentation. • Lead show-related financial activities, such as settlements, accounting, and event reporting. • Ensure compliance with tax reporting regulations and oversee reconciliation processes for bank accounts and other financial analyses. • Provide leadership and guidance to finance department staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Requirements • Proven experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the entertainment or venue management industry. • Strong proficiency in accounting systems and software, including D365, ADP, and Concur. • Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. • Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and box office/ticketing processes. • Familiarity with tax reporting requirements and internal control practices. • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports. • Experience working with external auditors and managing annual audits. • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop staff.
