The Opportunity:

Our CACI facility in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to manage a technical staff of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams.The Director of Engineering will oversee teams of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering, managing Research & Development, Customer Funded, and Sustainment projects, with focus on technical and schedule performance across our portfolio of commercial products.This position reports to the site General Manager and supports a growing product focused organization, specializing in engineering design and onsite manufacturing of tactical radio systems.Ideal candidates will have 15+ years of experience overseeing teams of 75+ total engineersPosition is 100% on site in Rochester, NYPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%


Responsibilities:

Accountable for Engineering Department staff, overseeing development projects, managing product obsolescence and sustainment, and delivering metrics for cost, time, requirements, and qualityProvide leadership to a team of Engineering managers to ensure teams meet both requirements and strategic objectives of the businessWork closely with the Product and Program Management teams to develop execution and resource plans tied to internal and external investmentOversee, evaluate, and implement effective reporting and metrics to ensure projects are efficient and successfulEnsuring successful coordination with the stakeholders across the business, keeping them informed of relevant information especially risks and issues and the associated resolution plans and statusProvide effective communications to senior leadership on status, reports, and recommendationsDrive collaboration and communication over cross-functional teamsCoordinate resolution of development and production-related conflicts using risk management strategiesSupport preparation of technical white papers, proposals, and request for information responsesOversee all major Engineering reviews, department budgets, and administrative tasks


Qualifications:

Required: 

BS degree in an Engineering disciplineMinimum of 15 years of experience in managing Engineering development projects across hardware and software engineeringBroad knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Soft ware Engineering principals, RF signals, system engineering design, and wireless communication technologiesStrong understanding of circuit board design, fabrication, and assemblyStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated experience creating and presenting briefings to communicate across teams and to senior leadershipPrior experience managing and developing a team of Engineering ManagersExpert proficiency at execution planning against development requirements, including technical, resources, and schedule preparationAdvanced proficiency of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPointMust be willing and able to get a TS/SCI clearance


Desired:

Tactical radios, RF related products, and EW (Electronic Warfare) SystemsExperience working directly with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver complex product solutionsUnderstanding of product lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, and obsolescenceExperience with Configuration Management best practices and processes including product development stages, release to manufacturing, and engineering change ordersPrior experience and knowledge of US DoD and international government contractingActive TS/SCI security clearance

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$137,400-$302,300
