Coming soon to Lisbon, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon.Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 169 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique layout will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic regional elements of Lisbon that stimulate the senses.

As Director of Engineering, you will lead all engineering and maintenance operations during the pre-opening and operational phases of Andaz Lisbon. You will ensure the physical integrity, safety, and sustainability of the property while supporting the brand’s commitment to authenticity, artistic expression, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead coordination with construction and project management teams to ensure smooth pre-opening operations.

Oversee the setup and functionality of all property systems including Operations, Maintenance, and Energy Management.

Support all operational departments to ensure life safety systems and essential services are fully functional.

Ensure all equipment, building infrastructure, and spaces are in optimal working condition.

Focus on energy conservation and sustainability initiatives from the outset.

Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all hotel facilities, including kitchen and laundry.

Conduct regular inspections of the entire property, identifying deficiencies and ensuring life safety equipment is in place and operational.

Maintain accurate records and archives, including compliance certificates and government inspection reports.

Ensure all operational equipment has updated manuals, spare parts lists, and system drawings.

Oversee maintenance of the building, gardens, grounds, road surfaces, guest rooms, and public areas.

Monitor and test all fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment for functionality.

Collaborate with the Director of Security and LD to deliver life safety and fire training programs for hotel staff.
