Our Client is a fast-growing Montreal innovator revolutionizing Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) with cutting-edge Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems and Photonics Integrated Circuits.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join an ambitious, dynamic team as Director of Engineering. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead the full engineering lifecycle—from design to production—driving the development of next-gen photonics and hardware systems that redefine IMU technology.
What You’ll Do: Build and lead a high-performance engineering team focused on microphotonics, integrated circuits, and hardware systems Drive the design, development, and integration of proprietary chip technology and microfabrication processes Collaborate with foundries and external vendors to manage chip manufacturing and product validation Shape engineering strategy, manage risks, and align technical efforts with business goals Foster innovation, accountability, and career growth within your team Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and performance guidance Partner with executive leadership to execute growth strategies and meet key milestones Who You Are: Experienced Director (or similar) of Engineering in Canada’s semiconductor or photonics sector Deep knowledge of Photonics Integrated Circuits and wafer processing in cleanroom environments Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, or related field Minimum 3 years in technical leadership with executive team exposure Canadian permanent resident Strong analytical thinker with excellent communication and decision-making skills Inspiring leader passionate about tackling big challenges and building exceptional teams Committed to integrity, detail, and driving mission-focused results Why This Role?
