We are seeking an experienced **Director of Corporate Affairs** to lead communications and public relations across India, the Middle East & Africa, and Government Affairs in India. This is a leadership role within a global, high-performing corporate affairs team responsible for building and protecting Pearson’s reputation. As the principal communications leader for India and the MEA region, you will set the strategic direction for all communications, partnering with executives, leadership teams, global corporate affairs, and local leaders. You will be responsible for external communications, government relations, and select internal initiatives, strengthening Pearson’s reputation and deepening stakeholder engagement while ensuring our voice remains clear, consistent, and impactful. We are looking for a strategic thinker and vibrant storyteller who can engage a range of audiences across complex markets, balancing a long-term vision with daily execution. This role demands a highly collaborative, influential leader who can navigate ambiguity, bring energy to change initiatives, and strengthen Pearson’s voice in the market. **Responsibilities:** + Develop and lead integrated communications strategies to strengthen Pearson’s brand and reputation across India and MEA. + Serve as senior communications advisor to regional leaders, providing counsel on media strategy, executive positioning, thought leadership, and crisis management. + Manage government relations efforts, building productive relationships with policymakers, high commissions, and key trade bodies to advance advocacy objectives. + Drive external media relations, proactive storytelling campaigns, including advising on influencer programmes and social media activity. + Support internal communications initiatives that align employees with Pearson’s strategy and culture. + Guide strategic content development, including executive speeches, op-eds, press releases, and social media campaigns. + Navigate sensitive issues with speed and judgment, ensuring consistency of message and protection of Pearson’s reputation. + Actively collaborate with global and functional teams to align regional efforts with broader business priorities. **What You Bring:** + 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, and government affairs. + Strong understanding of the media, regulatory, and policy environment across India and MEA. + A proven track record in developing and executing successful communication campaigns that drive impact. + Executive presence and the ability to counsel senior leaders with credibility and insight. + Exceptional writing and editing skills across multiple formats. + Experience managing crisis communications, change initiatives, and complex stakeholder environments. + Highly collaborative with an ability to lead through influence and build trusted cross-functional relationships. + Comfortable operating in a global, fast-paced, and highly dynamic environment. + Data-driven and agile, able to anticipate external trends and adapt communications strategies accordingly. + High levels of professionalism, resilience, and integrity. **Qualifications:** + Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field. **Who we are:** At Pearson, our purpose is simple: to help people realize the life they imagine through learning.
