This role is responsible for ensuring business operations are conducted in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, professional standards, and regulations while fostering strategic alignment and facilitating seamless communication across departments. The Director provides expert regulatory guidance, monitors the legislative landscape, assesses risk, and drives compliance initiatives to support the company's strategic objectives. This role is responsible for policies and procedures development, maintenance, and revision as well as oversight of audit processes, which includes analysis and report development to support the Quality Improvement Program. The scope of this position also includes monitoring, reviewing, implementing, and providing organizational support on reimbursement, payer, and regulations in the skilled nursing, outpatient, and home health settings. This position is responsible for ensuring all companies/business areas integrate and comply with national and state legislation as well as adherence to Powerback policies and standards. The Director, Regulatory and Compliance Strategy assists the organization, the health care industry, and other entities as assigned as a technical consultant and resource for legislative process, regulatory development, and business compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Acts as subject matter expert, providing regulatory and professional advice and guidance to assigned line(s) of business, ensuring compliance with complex laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitors regulatory changes and emerging issues, assesses their impact, and disseminates critical intelligence to key stakeholders. Serves as a primary resource for interpreting regulatory policy and offering strategic direction on compliance matters. Oversees updates and maintenance of regulatory data, reimbursement resources, and company policies and procedures. Leads identification, assessment, and reporting of regulatory, operational, and financial risk areas including support & reporting on current CMS and Intermediary probe reviews and audits. Develops and implements mitigation strategies and ensures appropriate controls are in place. Supports compliance with reimbursement requirements, business operations, health and safety standards, and clinical documentation/billing requirements. Provides compliance oversight and reporting for Quality Improvement and Policies & Procedures Committees. Conducts onsite and remote audits, analyses, and support for Corporate Compliance and internal audit functions. Contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the corporate compliance program, including policies, procedures, best practices, and audit and monitoring initiatives. Develops and implements processes and systems to promote patient advocacy, professional integrity, regulatory compliance, and service reimbursement. Assists in the development and maintenance of compliance resources (e.g., coding tools, clinical programs, operational initiatives). Utilizes a project management approach to drive interdepartmental and interdisciplinary initiatives to timely completion. Builds strong partnerships across company lines of business, regulatory affairs, legal, and other departments to align compliance strategies. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with internal systems and external agencies (federal, state, professional organizations) to advance advocacy and compliance initiatives. Represents the company on industry and professional committees to integrate nationally legislated, standardized, and corporate-directed mandates. Acts as a liaison and ad hoc resource to legal services on regulatory, reimbursement, and operational risk areas. Develops and delivers targeted training programs to ensure employees understand regulatory requirements, compliance responsibilities, ethical standards and monitors behavior change. Promotes a culture of compliance, accountability, and awareness throughout the organization. Provides informational support for corporate publications, resource documents, and compliance communications. Supervises, mentors, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure professional growth and departmental effectiveness. Maintains budgetary oversight and manages resources efficiently for areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned to support corporate compliance and organizational goals. Qualifications The Director, Regulatory and Compliance Strategy will: Possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech language-pathology, with a master’s or doctorate degree preferred. Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical care, of which 8 years involved progressive experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or a related field in the healthcare industry. Demonstrated experience in a strategic or leadership role with a strong understanding of business operations. Hold office(s) or leadership role on state and/or national professional, government relations, clinical, policy, or steering committee(s) and/or executive board(s). Posted Salary Range USD $130,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Hr.
