SUMMARY OF COMPANY: Westcliff University was established to provide quality education for students wishing to enter the fast-growing fields of Business and Education. Westcliff University, which received its initial approval from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education in 1993 (www.bppe.ca.gov), offers various programs in the College of Business and Education. Westcliff University’s curriculum consists of graduate and undergraduate degree programs in business and education, as well as other certificate programs. Westcliff Athletics is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac). POSITION TITLE: Assistant Athletic Director of Recruitment, Compliance & System Technologist QUALIFICATIONS: YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent experience, or Westcliff Athletics Career Pathway SUMMARY: The Assistant Athletics Director of Recruitment, Compliance System Technologist is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process for student-athletes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and managing athletic department systems and technologies. The Assistant Athletic Director of Recruitment, Compliance, & System Technologist will oversee and manage the recruitment processes for student-athletes, ensuring compliance with NAIA regulations and institutional policies, and leveraging technology to optimize recruitment and compliance operations. This role involves collaborating with coaches to develop effective recruitment strategies,monitoring adherence to compliance standards, and implementing and maintaining systems that support recruitment and compliance efforts. The position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of NAIA regulations and the latest technological tools relevant to athletic administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES ? In-depth Knowledge of NAIA Regulations: Comprehensive understanding of NAIA rules, regulations, and compliance requirements, including recruitment, eligibility, and academic standards. ? Recruitment Strategies: Expertise in developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract top student-athletes while maintaining adherence to compliance standards. ? Technological Proficiency: Advanced skills in using recruitment software, compliance management systems, and data analytics tools to streamline processes and enhance decision-making. ? Data Analysis and Reporting: Ability to analyze recruitment and compliance data to identify trends, assess effectiveness, and generate comprehensive reports for strategic planning. ? Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion. ? Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for effectively interacting with coaches, student-athletes, staff, and external stakeholders. ? Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail in monitoring compliance with NAIA regulations and institutional policies to avoid violations and maintain program integrity. ? Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments, guiding and supporting coaches and staff in recruitment and complianceefforts. ? Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficient in identifying challenges related to recruitment and compliance, and developing innovative solutions to address them. ? Ethical Judgment and Integrity: Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and integrity in managing recruitment and compliance activities, ensuring fair and equitable practices.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract talented student-athletes to the university. 2. Ensure compliance with all NAIA and conference rules and regulations related to athletic recruitment and student-athlete eligibility. 3. Collaborate with coaching staff to identify recruitment needs and priorities. 4. Utilize technology and data analytics to enhance recruitment efforts and improve overall departmental efficiency. 5. Manage athletic department systems and technologies, including software applications and databases. 6. Provide training and support to staff on the use of technology systems and tools. 7. Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to athletic recruitment and Technology. 8. Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures related to recruitment and compliance. 9. Collaborate with university administrators, coaches, and staff to ensure alignment with institutional goals and objectives. 10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: As Westcliff Athletics is still growing, the university currently practices and hosts competitions at off-campus locations. Local travel may be required. Potential candidates may be asked to travel to different locations for recruitment activities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is moderately demanding physically. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Medium strength is required to set up the necessary stats table items. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Westcliff University Warrior Academy Head Coach/Recruiter, you will have supervisory responsibilities that encompass managing assistant coaches, support staff, and student-athletes to ensure the smooth operation and success of the athletic program. Your duties include: Assistant Coaches: Supervise and lead assistant coaches, ensuring they adhere to the program's philosophies and objectives. Assign specific coaching responsibilities and oversee their execution. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to support their professional development. Support Staff: Oversee the work of support staff, including trainers, team managers, and administrative personnel. Ensure support staff are effectively contributing to the athletic program and adhering to established protocols. Coordinate with support staff to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes. Student-Athletes: Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, fostering an environment of growth, discipline, and academic achievement. Monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes, coordinating with academic advisors as necessary. Address any disciplinary or behavioral issues in accordance with university policies and procedures. Recruitment and Outreach: Lead recruitment efforts by setting targets and strategies for identifying and attracting talented athletes. Oversee the organization and execution of recruitment events, including tryouts, camps, and showcases. Maintain positive relationships with high school coaches, club coaches, and other key stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all activities within the athletic program comply with university policies, conference regulations, and NAIA rules. Prepare and submit required reports to the Athletic Director and other relevant bodies. Stay updated on compliance issues and best practices, ensuring the program remains in good standing.
